Summary: There are several differences and new features in this PS4 version. It’s played in 2D, though there are 3D elements in the game’s larger threats and the scenery. In this version the textures of the game are more compressed, so you can see that the game’s graphics are clearer and more detailed than before. To be fair though, no platformer has really solved this problem yet, and Rayman does it as well as any. The Wii U version is the one to get, but whatever hardware you have to play it on, this is a bona-fide masterpiece of platform gaming. The only benefit here is reduced load times that quickly allow you to zip into a level of choice. It says a lot about Rayman Legends that all this stuff happens within the first hour of play. It’s a perfectly functional way of doing things, but you’re left aware that you’re missing out on a little of the fun.
