Our stay at the Carrington was great and we wished it was for longer! The Carrington’s menu pays homage to the classic UK gastro-pub – offering relaxed but great food. Service was a little indifferent but they got there in the end. Nice amount of garlic just a bit dry. at a reasonable price and a good wine list. I had the salmon which was nice, really crispy on one end but was still palatable. Large group, some good, some not so good food. The Executive Chef and his team have curated a contemporary a la carte menu showcasing the finest local produce the region has to offer. Older style motel- comfortable, clean, and friendly. It is a 15-minute drive to Shepparton Golf Club. Restaurant not busy with 3 other people seated when I ordered so no excuse As the sun fades beyond the lake and evening falls, the soft glow of chandelier lighting fills this elegant dining space. Staff were very sociable and gave great service. We stayed and arrived on Australia Day - not their fault but the only thing I got told was that the hotel restaurant would be closed that night and to my question, if anything else was open I only got a shoulder shrug...well not the...least bit helpfulMore.

The bed was like a 5-star hotel. Breakfast through to dinner the staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant looked amazing. Had oysters Kilpatrick garlic bread steak and the beef ragu.
